The Second Investigation Session With Shahram Jazayeri Was Held

The second investigation session with Shahram Jazayeri was held on Monday morning at the Special Economic Affairs Judicial Complex, in the presence of Jazayeri and his defence lawyer.
Announcing this to the legal reporter of the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA), Seyyed Mohammad Sadegh Alemohammad said that, as previously announced, the special judge had begun a fresh investigation of Jazayeri's case, and that hearings would follow once the investigation was complete.
He expressed the hope that, since his client's earlier convictions had been overturned twice, the new judge would agree to lift the temporary detention order so that Jazayeri could be released from prison for the time being. The defence lawyer stressed that the judge's questions centred on the most serious charge against his client, namely disrupting the country's export system.
Alemohammad recalled that two of his client's charges had not been upheld by two branches of the Supreme Court and had been overturned, and that under the law Jazayeri is entitled to be released from prison until his final status is determined.
